Park City’s Best Art Galleries & Festivals

October 25, 2024 by idxcentral

Park city art scene building

The Park City art scene is astounding!

With global attention on this city for its stunning landscapes and its renowned Deer Valley Ski Resort, the Park City art scene is gathering international exposure. Over a dozen uniquely curated art galleries have filled the downtown core.

If you’re looking for something to do in Park City, its impressive art galleries and world-class festivals will have you covered.

Local and international artists are broadly represented in the city’s 18 art galleries and are showcased in the several arts festivals that happen during the summer months.

Events like the Kimball Arts Festival and the Latino Arts Festival enliven the city with art, dance, and music, bringing the community together to celebrate creativity.

Park City Art Galleries

If you’re looking for an art gallery in Park City, all you have to do is wander down and around Main Street where galleries are peppered in between shops and restaurants. Art galleries have a large presence in Park City, representing many local and international artists.

Because there are so many amazing galleries to visit in this city, Park City Gallery Association puts on a monthly community event called Gallery Strolls.

Gallery Strolls are free and occur on the last Friday of every month to highlight artists and exhibits at art galleries around town. Enjoy refreshments as you explore Park City’s art scene during a beautiful alpine evening. There’s really no better way to see all the unique art collections Park City galleries have to offer.

Kimball Art Center

The Kimball Art Center is a non-profit and a cultural hub for Park City arts. Visitors and locals are invited to wander through their free exhibitions and to learn about art in the community. They display pieces from both emerging and established artists from the community and elsewhere.

The center offers over 300 visual art classes for all ages, making this center a great place for a family getaway.

If you’re interested in learning more about art, attend one of their quarterly Art Talks where you can have conversations about Kimball’s exhibitions with other art enthusiasts.

Terzian Galleries

Terzian Galleries is located on Main Street and specializes in contemporary art by artists throughout Utah and beyond. Established in 2004, this gallery hosts art by 30 acclaimed artists in forms ranging from painting to jewelry.

Expect to find an eclectic collection with art that will please every eye.

Summer Art Festivals

Kimball Arts Festival: August 2nd-4th

The Kimball Arts Festival is one of Park City’s biggest art events of the summer.

This festival is presented by Park City Hospital and serves as a fundraiser for the Kimball Art Center.

This year will mark the festival’s 50th anniversary, so expect some of the greatest events and activities yet!

Over this weekend, Park City’s historic Main Street buzzes with life as local and visiting artists display their art in tents and stations. Find art in all forms including paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and pottery.

This festival has activities for the whole family! On Friday night, locals and tourists can take to the streets to create bowls out of clay or to draw designs in ink to make one-of-a-kind prints.

On Saturday, paint Park City postcards with watercolor and learn the knots to make your very own macrame decor. In the evening, bind travel journals and record your time in beautiful Park City.

Over the weekend, learn new creative skills such as painting, embroidery, and wire sculpting with hands-on help from artists.

In the evenings, music fills the air at three different stage locations across town: Kimball Stage, Miner’s Stage, and Food Truck Stage. The band, Memphis McCool’s modern take on soul and groove will have you on your feet dancing their whole show!

Be sure to check out The Fabulous Flynn’s Tones to groove along to their funk, rock, jazz and Latin-inspired music. This band always puts on a stellar performance that will have you entertained for hours.

And this is only the beginning of what the festival has to offer! You’ll also find food and drinks and other forms of entertainment. You definitely don’t want to miss the Park City Kimball Arts Festival this summer, so mark it in your calendars!

Park City’s Latino Arts Festival

This summer is the fourth Latino Arts Festival hosted in Park City. This lively festival highlights artists from Spain, Mexico, Guatemala, Argentina, and more!

Join this festival and celebrate diversity and Latin heritage through the creative arts.

You’ll find art of all kinds — from paintings to performances to textiles.

Lose yourself in the film screening of “The Quiet Force” after you fill up on the festival’s amazing food and drink selection, inspired by Latin cuisine.

Come together with the community to watch dancers perform folkloric dances in their bright red and blue and green dresses. You’ll be enchanted by their spirited colors and movements.

The Latino Arts Festival is all about creative self-expression and bringing together people from all over the world.

No matter if you’re an artist, an art enthusiast, or someone simply looking for something to do, Park City’s art scene has something for everyone. It’s fresh and exciting and you don’t want to miss it.
