About Old Town
After the discovery of silver in 1868, the small mining camp flourished into a booming town where miners, merchants, gamblers, and saloonkeepers from around the world joined the budding success of Old Town in Park City. Old Town was incorporated in 1884 as mining for silver continued to grow well into the 1930s, but gradually took a dive in the 1960s. Right before the decline in mining, the very first ski resort popped up on the mountains in 1946, essentially saving the prosperity of the mountain community. From its fruitful mining days to its cutting-edge arts and entertainment over the years, Old Town remains an outdoor mecca for activity and recreation, attracting millions of people to this day.
Historic Main Street is one of the most iconic addresses in Utah, perhaps even in the West. Abundant with unique shops, galleries, renowned restaurants, and a culture that's treasured, there's no wonder why people from all over the map wish to invest in Old Town's historic district of stunningly restored turn-of-the-century homes, and some of the finest new developments Utah has seen, bar none. Most of the homes in Old Town are secondary properties, but some people will live here full-time since Park City is one of the best four-season destinations in the country to call home. Whether it's your dream to own a historic nationally registered home, a cozy condo, or a swank single-family home, you'll be impressed with the options in Old Town real estate. You'll also appreciate an awesome location, close to all important points of interest, including a chairlift that goes right down to Main Street!
